Unlike most animal shelters, Clowder House is a volunteer-only organization. We take pride in the fact that all money raised and donated goes directly towards the care of our cats and upkeep of our facility.
That said… WE NEED YOU!
We have approximately 200 cats in our care and providing these cats with their daily needs requires a large volunteer base. Clowder House provides all on-site training and lots of loving cats!
We are looking for caring volunteers who:
- Are age 16 or older
- Can provide own transportation to and from our facility located at 3134 Wyoming Street, St. Louis, 63118
- Are available one or multiple 3-4 hour shift, day or evening, any day of the week
- Are seeking to fulfill high school or college required community hours
- Can participate in job-sponsored volunteer programs (check with employer)
Please contact us at email@example.com to schedule your training session. When you arrive, please bring your completed Volunteer Application Form.

Liz Kinder became a
kitty fan late in life. She was living in a small 3rd
floor apartment and wanted a pet, but didn’t want to have to
hold a dog out the window to go potty at three in the morning.
So, she got a cat…and what a cat she got! Sophie, (aka The
Sophster, Diva, Demon Cat) rules the roost in her Webster
Groves home that Liz just happens to share. A little known
fact: Sophie has house calls from her vet because it’s too
traumatic to get in the car and go anywhere. Did we mention
A volunteer at Clowder House since 2005,
Liz’s efforts are tireless. She often pitches in on days we’re
short of help and is always the first one there and last one
to leave at special events and fundraisers. Liz says, “I
really enjoy spending time and taking care of all the kitties,
with special attention to my favorites Ahna, Anna, Emily Ann,
Moses, Precious and Tiny Tim.”
In addition to Sophie, Liz is the “cool”
aunt to 7 nieces and nephews as well as two niece/nephew cats
(ask her about Miss Poofy Jenkins sometime) and two
are lucky to have Liz!
